On Evergrey's fifth studio album, TIC, Evergrey has decided to go for a concept album. The sounds have improved and also the songs are a little bit different than earlier (in a positive way). Evergrey has stuck to their own style, which is good... There should be more bands with a style of their own.

In this album they have a new drummer: Jonas Ekdahl. Ekdahl was Evergrey’s drum tech, and he decided to jump behind the kit after Patrick Carlsson had left the band (last year). Fortunately there is nothing to complain about drumming, actually I can't distinguish the new drummer from the earlier.

The biggest drawback of this album is its length (so often the case). The cd spins for 48 minutes... which is too short nowadays. Another thing, which lowers the rating, is their monotonous composing style... None of the songs is really great... they aren't bad, but they could be better.
