Millenium's fourth studio album 'Jericho' features once again Todd Plant (the original Millenium singer). Millenium has had quite a few singers during its lifespan. One of them has been Jörn Lande, who's also known from many other bands (ARK, Beyond Twilight and Masterplan to name a few). It goes without saying that the current singer doesn't rank with Jörn Lande. However, he ain't bad (Todd's actually quite good).

Songs on Jericho are heavier than on previous Millenium albums (at least they've been mixed so). Fortunately the melodic edge is still present. Few songs are rather good (for example, 'Morning Star' is definitely one of the highlights). However, the album as a whole is a bit mediocre (quite a lot of the songs were about average). The music also gives quite a lot of different associations (I even heard some KenZiner influences). Ralph Santolla (Iced Earth) sure plays some great riffs occasionally, but I was expecting more from this release.

Production-wise this album needs some work... Every now and then guitar parts got distorted. I also heard clipping few times. Partly mixing could have been done better as well. Otherwise, I have no complaints.

Although this album isn't perfect, it's still quite good album (it had some good songs). I believe some fans of Millenium will like it (and some won't). So I recommend listening samples before buying. By the way, if you're interested in Todd Plant's releases, be sure to check out Cryptic Vision's Moments of Clarity.
