I have to admit I haven't heard of Uhrilehto before (although I live in Finland)... According to the promotional sheet, Uhrilehto was already formed in 1996. They've had quite a few line-up changes already, and only one original member is left (the vocalist/guitarist Nidhogg). 'Viimeinen Vitutus' is their third album.
Songs are mostly well-composed melodic black metal. I was surprised by the quite even quality of songs. I was also surprised by the vocalist, who has quite good "death voice" (I can hear what the lyrics are about).
Production-wise 'Viimeinen Vitutus' could have been better. Songs are mostly mixed too bright causing irritation (1000-5000 Hz) and some sizzle (8000-12000 Hz) on cymbals. Especially the third track "Some Black Inferno" had this problem (although it's noticeable on other songs as well). Otherwise the production is quite good (even the sizzle diminished towards the end).
As the title 'Viimeinen Vitutus' suggests, this might be the last album of the "Vitutus-row". So apparently Uhrilehto has composed a trilogy. I can't compare this album to the earlier parts of the trilogy... However, I believe this is the strongest work they've done so far.
