Relapse continues its Singles Series with 4th installment... Relapse Singles Series Vol.4 contains Exit 13's "Spare the Wrench, Surrender the Earth", Phobia's "All That Remains", Goreaphobia's "Omen of Masochism" and Amorphis' "Amorphis". The quality of those singles, however, is quite inferior. For example, the quality of Phobia's songs can already be seen from the song titles ('Emptiness' was incorrectly written as 'Emptyness').

Songs are mostly death and black metal with some occasional experimentations of other genres (Phobia's "Chemical Fear", for example, isn't exactly death or black metal). Surprisingly, the best songs on this compilation are from Exit 13 (I hadn't heard of Exit 13 prior to listening this compilation).

Production on this collection varies, which isn't surprising as the different artists have recorded their albums in different locations. The biggest frailty of production is the distortion, which occurred every now and then. Also the sounds could have been more felicitous.

Unless you're a fan of the bands and want to hear their singles, you shouldn't invest in this single collection (there are a lot better death & black metal bands out there)...
