Visions of Atlantis is yet another symphonic metal band which uses both female and male vocals in their music. They are from Austria and this is their second album. My first impression when I heard the opening track was that this band tries to capitalize upon the success of Evanescence. However, the other tracks were more like the early Nightwish.

Although some of the tracks have very promising elements, this album is rather average. Somehow those songs that have much potential are not able to build up the atmosphere. The cohesion isn't at the level it should be and both singers are average. There should have been more dynamics, power and integrity in the songs - now they are too dull to be frank.

All in all, this band has potential but they have to compose better and more original songs before they can compete with bands like Nightwish and Lacuna Coil.
