Opeth's clean album... so there's no death metal, just clean songs based on Mikael Åkerfeld's clean voice. Damnation is pretty much a collection of clean Opeth songs... Although they aren't old songs, they sound similar to Opeth's previous clean songs.

Reviewing this album is little bit difficult, because there's nothing really great on it but on the other hand there's nothing bad either. So it's good in many ways, but also bad in some ways. (I hope I'm not confusing you). This album is good for those who earlier couldn't enjoy Opeth albums because of the death vocals... Maybe you have listened to some Opeth album and though that I like the songs and all, but I really can't stand the growls. Well if this is the case, now would be a good time to re-discover the band in a different way.

Damnation is quite short album (approximately 43 minutes), which is too short for this kind of album. Damnation is good music to put in the background, it doesn't disturb in anyway. Therefore it should have been longer.
