After a hiatus of four years, the Greek death metal band The Elysian Fields returns with their most innovative work thus far... TEF's fourth album 'Suffering G.O.D. Almighty' is quite an adventurous album, since it contains both extreme death metal sections and some melodical electronic influences. However, this blend of influences seems to work rather well.

The material on Suffering G.O.D. Almighty is somewhat diverse, which is a bit surprising for a death metal band... however, there aren't any "light" upbeat songs on this album but the material stays heavy at all times (with the exception of few sections). The diversity on this album has been obtained through the use of electronic influences, which enlivens the music every now and then. In terms of quality, the material on this album is rather steady.

This album has been produced quite well, since the sounds are fitting and the mastering has been done rather well. Actually I'm rather surprised how clean the recordings on this album are. However, the cymbals sound a bit muffled.

All in all, TEF's latest offering 'Suffering G.O.D. Almighty' is quite good death metal album, which all open-minded death metal listeners should check out.
