Mutilation's second album is titled as 'Conflict Inside'. Having faith on the old school death metal, the band has also included a cover of Death's 'Mutilation' on this album. Unfortunately, the cover actually has the worst guitar tones on this album, and delivers rather grave disappointment to the listener.

The music on this album is quite basic death metal, meaning there's all the obligatory elements from strong, raw rhythms to the blistering guitar solos. It's quite a shame the band hasn't strived for more original delivery, since there's already a lot of competition on this field. By making an album that's decent isn't enough anymore if it doesn't offer anything new. However, the listeners of true death metal may find this release worth their attention.

Conflict Inside was recorded and mixed at Mamut Studio by Maciek Mularczyk and Mutilation. The sounds are a bit disappointing regarding few aspects. For example, the cymbals and snare could have been mixed better. Also the guitar tone could have been heavier and more distinctive. In addition, there's some background distortion occasionally audible on some guitar parts.

Mutilation's 'Conflict Inside' is plain death metal album with an "ok" production and somewhat groovy songs that occasionally contain melodic guitar solos. However, the songs aren't too memorable, which is a shame since there certainly should be strong hooks on a death metal album. It's up to you, whether you consider this album worth your money or not.
