Ohmwork is the third album coming from Terence "Geezer" Buttler's solo project GZR. Taking into account Buttler's past, I expected the material to sound similar to Black Sabbath (at least to some extent). I was rather surprised (to say the least) to hear the mostly nu metal influenced album that Ohmwork is.

The music on this album is in-your-face nu metal with rather dark atmosphere. The quality of material varies slightly, and I easily find myself favouring particular tracks. For example, the definite highlight on this album is 'Alone'. I just wish all the material would be of the same quality as 'Alone' on this album (otherwise the material is rather disappointing).

The overall sound on this album is slightly muffled. The mix is somewhat dull, but that's probably due to preserving the darkness of the record... I'd say the sounds suit this album rather well, although the production has some room for improvement.

Ohmwork is an album that portions out some listeners while one considers it as extremely good, others may find it rather disappointing. Thus I recommend listening before buying.
