Thou Art Lord is relatively unknown band, although the band consists of somewhat well-known musicians among the underground scene. The Magus (Necromantia) and Sakis (Rotting Christ) formed the band back in 1993, and during its lifespan they've had few different vocalists. The band got freezed in 1995 due to the obligations with their other bands, but got brought back to life three years ago with the release of DV8. Orgia Daemonicum is their fourth album, and it showcases extreme metal with catchy riffs and raw vocals.

Already from the beginning the intention of Sakis and the Magus was plain and simple - "to play fast, loud, extreme sinister music without restrictions and limitations". This new album is a tribute to their influences, and since the band grew tired of the triggered recordings currently on the scene, they decided to go back to basics with their own music. TAL's influences range from Bathory, Possesed, Slayer, Sodom, Venom as well as even the Morbid Angel, and on this new album they've included a cover of Onslaught's death metal classic "Power from Hell". Overall, the material on this album is a quite steady in terms of quality, and there are plenty of catchy riffs that you can sway your head in time with... however, the music on this album obviously isn't too original since the band decided to make kind of a tribute album and play satanic death/thrash metal in the spirit of the 80's. Also some of the songs aren't that great (the quality degraded towards the end of the album).

The production on this album is somewhat mediocre... for example, the distorted rhythm guitar tone could occasionally be better. However, the sounds are quite fitting and powerful. This is the kind of album that some regard as great, while others don't find it appealing. Check it out yourself and decide which category you belong to...
