Little Atlas is back with their third album titled as "Wanderlust". This time 'round Katsikas has written lyrics that are rather extensive - everything from political oppression and child abuse to alien abduction and existential philosophy is being covered on "Wanderlust". Compared to their previous album "Surface Serene" Little Atlas' music has evolved into new heights... their songwriting skills have matured, and the songs on this album are even more innovative than before. Unfortunately Little Atlas still tends to relapse into gimmickry a bit too often.

The music on this album is a mixture of melodic progressive rock and art rock... nonetheless, Little Atlas has also blended some other elements into their songs as well. As an example of the diversity to be found on this record, I'll mention the a cappella break in "Weariness Rides", the futuristic and heavy progressive rock section of "Higher" along with the soothing flute melodies (in the art rock vein) that can be heard on "Home". I'm not surprised at all that some have described Little Atlas' music as "music for musicians", since that's exactly what it is... however, I believe that also listeners other than musicians may find Little Atlas' music pleasant to listen to.

The sounds on this album are really good. Mixing was actually handled by the band members Rik Bigai and Steve Katsikas... the mastering, on the other hand, was handled by the renowned studio engineer Rodney Mills (Cheryl Crow, Doobie Brothers, Journey, Pearl Jam). In addition to the music, this album contains an enhanced bonus video section that contains a live performance of "On and on". Overall, this release is definitely a step forward for the guys of Little Atlas, and worth checking out in case you listen to art rock and progressive rock in the vein of Yes, early Genesis, Kansas, Proto-Kaw, Gentle Giant, Spock's Beard, Porcupine Tree and the like.
