Steel Prophet is a name most Power Metal fans are familiar with. They come from Los Angeles and this is their eighth album. This new album 'Beware' features a new singer Nadir D'Priest (ex-London, D'Priest). Steel Prophet plays power metal, which is one of the most explored genres of metal. On this album they don't offer anything new to genre, but they have composed quite a regular heavy metal album.

Songs are of a steady quality, not too many songs stand out. Songs are usually based on a catchy riff or melody line. One of my favourites is the seventh song 'You Are My Life (Gypsy Mind)', which has a nice atmosphere. The new singer ain't too bad, but he doesn't rank with the best.

Production on this album is quite good. There aren't much to complain... besides the distortion (which is very rare and quite trivial, I only heard it few times). Mixing, on the other hand, has been done quite well. So only complaints regard mastering, which caused the distortion in two guitar parts.

Comprehensively this album is fairly ordinary heavy metal album. There's nothing exceptional about it. Beware contains 48 minutes of 'basic' heavy metal. It's quite an average metal album there are better albums out there, but there are also worse albums.
