The long-anticipated new Zero Hour album is ready at last. As you may already know, everything didn't went according to the plans of Tipton brothers. Originally the group was about releasing a follow-up record to Metamorphosis titled as "De-evolution". Unfortunately the band faced difficulties and lost their singer Erik Rosvold. Now with the new singer Zero Hour seems to have gained more aggressive edge to their music. On the face of it one could talk about progression, but more accurate examination proves that the group has actually lost some of their creative songwriting skills. At times the material on this album is rather good, but somehow the album as a whole doesn't manage to assert the listener wholeheartedly. Dino Alden (Marty Friedman, Racer X) handled the production of this record. The sounds are forcible and epic - they really suit the material. Mastering of "A Fragile Mind" was handled at West West Side Music by Allan Douches. Although this album isn't quite as good as I first expected, I'm sure some fans of Zero Hour will find it worth checking out (after all, the good parts have convinced me to listen to this album on and off for over three months now).
