Silentium... I still remember when I first heard their debut "Infinita Plango Vulnera". Back then I wasn't that impressed with the band, and considered them as run-of-the-mill act. Fortunately enough the group has progressed since the early days, and nowadays they're able to put up quite an enjoyable show. As some of you may remember, this group rose from the ashes of Death/Gothic Metal band Funeral in late 1995.

The music of Silentium is dark-flavoured atmospheric metal with a tint of Gothic vibe. The occasional cello sections provide the music fairly dramatic tone, and they fit to the music exceptionally well. In addition, the use of two vocalists has been carried out well on Seducia.

The production on this album is fairly good... however, the snare catches my attention unfavourably (I constantly take notice of it). Mastering of this record took place at Finnvox by Mika Jussila.

In total, Seducia is quite a solid effort. If you have a soft spot for atmospheric metal, you should give Silentium a chance. Who knows, you may be favourably surprised.
