If one could believe the promosheet of Nuclear Blast, One Man Army and the Undead Quartet is a "swedish killing machine. Eleven songs of power, mayhem and destruction that will blow your mind." Sounds promising, and I have to admit that this group has potential. However, their debut album isn't as killer record as I would have wished to hear. 21st Century Killing Machine is somewhat troublesome record, since its material is of really steady quality but still has its highs and lows. Naturally there are rather good sections at times. However, some parts should have been crystallized more. For example, the album opener "Killing Machine" took a bit too long before it really started (one could get bored of the intro riffing). The production on this record has been handled rather proficiently. The sounds are warm and powerful - really apt for the material. Nevertheless, some minor changes could have made this record even better. All in all, One Man Army and the Undead Quartet's 21st Century Killing Machine offers groovy death thrash with some hooks, and surely appeals to majority of the listeners of this genre.
