Mikko Heino's latest demo EP "Moving Lines" offers atmospheric music that's founded on mellow passages and at times electronic soundscapes. All the songs are quite in the same league, so this record is quite a cohesive one. However, the songs don't manage to wholly impress me. Partly this is because of the vocals - at times Heino's singing suit the material well, but too often his vocals are processed with effects which manage to ruin the mood (at least in my book). Especially autotune has been used thoughtlessly. The vocals just feel separate from the rest of the mix, and that's never sought after. Heino still has room to improve, but at times his atmospheric avantgarde manages to be fairly good. Visit Artist's Website
