Krypteria is German-Korean four piece fronted by Korean vocalist Ji-In Cho. Their album Bloodangel's Cry relies on the well-tried symphonic metal concept, but something's missing... for example, the music gets almost annoyingly rhythmic at times (one only needs to hear the album opener, to see my point). What I mean by this is that on certain songs the guitar rhythm is crisp and cut almost in a techno way - this trend also extends to vocals. Fortunately, there are exceptions and every now and then the material on this record is of great quality. Especially the calmer and more emotionate tracks please me.

The overall rhythm guitar tone on Bloodangel's Cry is slightly boxy, although the album has been produced rather well otherwise. All in all, Krypteria is a band that shows promise. The memorable moments on this album make me wish to see this band explore further with their music - they've got potential.
