Shadow Gallery's second studio album proved to be quite a masterpiece. Mike Baker is one of the best progrock singers there are and on this album he shows how versatile singer he is. Guitarwork on this album is top class and compositions are very diverse. SG has developed a lot since their first album.

SG uses various interludes to guide you throughout your listening journey. Keyboards are used effectively to create the atmosphere and bond the other instruments together. The album ends with the massive 21-minute-giant — Ghostship.

Well, there's not much else to say. SG's Carved in Stone is Melodic Progressive Rock at its best... Only drawback is the guitar's tone, which could have been a little better.
