The legion of flames is back with a new wicked album. On first glance one could easily mistake this record as being some kind of offspring of Strapping Young Lad's, since the band wholly consists of SYL members with Devin Townsend handling both mixing and vocal production, yet the vocals were sung by Chris "The Heathen" Valagao. Additionally Dethklok's Nathan Explosion makes a guest appearance (The Vowel Song) during this interesting sonic journey.

When You Were Shouting at the Devil... We Were in League with Satan showcases an interesting blend of classic thrash metal and death metal coupled with lyrics written with tongue-in-cheek approach that gives this album certainly a unique character. One could almost classify Zimmers Hole as being well-realized, vivid parody metal that should entertain even the truest metal purists. All in all, this album is a very pleasant surprise amongst the plain bread-and-butter releases that crowd the market these days.
