The story of Olethrio Rigma is quite interesting... It isn't the usual formed a band, recorded an album -story. In 1989 Nikos (guitar/vocals) formed an original punk band band called Rigma... There was also another Greek band called Olethros roaming the punkscene at that time. Olethros was formed by the singer/guitarist Emi and it was supposed to be an all female band. Unfortunately it didn't work out, so Emi joined Rigma as a bassist and continued with Olethros using session musicians. Soon the bands decided to unite, because they shared the same style — Olethrio Rigma was born. O Tromos Tis Exousias (The terror of authority) is the 5th Olethrio Rigma album. I regret to say that my Greek skills are at zero (I haven't studied Greek). So I'm not sure if all the names in the tracklist are correct (song names are in Greek letters). Anyway, the music is mostly metalcore with some slight punk influences. The first song (In to the Fucking Death) was by far the best. It was instrumental, gloomy composition. This album was recorded at Praxis studios (Negative Creeps, Bullethole) and the result is moderate metalcore album. The songs don't offer anything new and the vocalists aren't very good (which is the usual case with metalcore bands). However, if you're a fan of the genre and/or the band, you might like this album. - MAGE (10.09.2004) « back
